We are a group of professionals teaching autistic children skills they can use in their community.
We work in the Ecuadorean Highlands with families living in rural areas at more than 3700m of altitude.
Because children with autism sometimes need very specific teaching to learn abilities such as communication.
Migration to the cities can impoverish families and restrict children's physical space. We support families' traditional activities, such as agriculture, so that they can live and work in their homeland.
We teach children specific communication abilities that are not developing due to autism.
We teach family and community members simple strategies they can use to increase communication with their children.
We rely on a network of medical practitioners, colleagues and friends, to provide health controls.
We work with members of the community to ensure that the strategies we teach are culturally adapted.
Because we love our work and we firmly believe that all children with special needs deserve the best support we can provide.

Due to limited food variability, children face growth restrictions and learning abilities are compromised.
Important visual difficulties were also a barrier to learning. They were detected and addressed.
